FAQs
What conditions does an orthopedic spine surgeon treat?
An orthopedic spine surgeon treats chronic back pain, neck pain, slipped disc, sciatica, cervical spondylosis, spinal stenosis, spinal fractures, and deformities like scoliosis and kyphosis.
When should I consult a spine specialist for back pain?
If your back pain persists beyond 4–6 weeks, or is associated with numbness, leg pain, tingling, weakness, or bladder issues, it may indicate nerve compression or disc herniation and needs urgent evaluation.
What are the advantages of minimally invasive spine surgery (MISS)?
MISS uses small incisions, causes less muscle damage, leads to faster recovery, less blood loss, and shorter hospital stay. It’s commonly done for disc herniation, decompression, or spinal fusion.
Does Dr. Archit Goyal perform advanced spine surgeries like discectomy or spinal fusion?
Yes. Dr. Archit Goyal routinely performs microdiscectomy, laminectomy, spinal decompression, and fusion surgeries, using modern minimally invasive techniques at Spine Sense Clinic, Delhi.
Can spine deformities like scoliosis be treated without surgery?
In mild scoliosis, bracing, physiotherapy, and postural correction may help. Moderate to severe cases often require surgical intervention, especially in growing children or progressive adult curves.
Is teleconsultation effective for spine and orthopedic issues?
Absolutely. Online consultation is effective for discussing symptoms like sciatica, stiffness, lower back pain, or post-surgical concerns. Dr. Archit offers teleconsultation daily from 6 PM to 8 PM via HealthPil.
Should I get a second opinion before spine surgery?

What is sciatica and how is it treated by a spine specialist?
Sciatica is nerve pain radiating from the back to the leg, usually due to slipped disc or spinal stenosis. It is managed with medicines, physiotherapy, epidural injections, and in some cases, surgery.
