Piroxicam: The NSAID for Inflammation and Pain Relief
What is Piroxicam?
Piroxicam is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) indicated in conditions involving pain and inflammation, such as osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and acute musculoskeletal pain. It works by inhibiting cyclooxygenase (COX) enzymes, reducing the production of prostaglandins that cause inflammation.
How Piroxicam Works
Piroxicam works by blocking both COX-1 and COX-2 enzymes, which leads to a reduction in the production of prostaglandins, responsible for causing pain and inflammation. This helps relieve symptoms like joint pain, swelling, and stiffness.
