How Fenofibrate Works
Fenofibrate activates peroxisome proliferator-activated receptors (PPARs), which increase the formation of apolipoprotein A1, fatty acid transport protein and lipoprotein lipase(LPL) resulting in breakdown of fatty acids and eliminating triglyceride particles. It also raises HDL cholesterol, which is considered “good cholesterol.”
