Cefdinir is a third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic and is used to treat severe bacterial infections, along with those resistant to earlier cephalosporins. It is used to treat bacterial infections such as respiratory tract infections, skin infections, and ear infections.It is active against both gram-negative and positive bacteria.
Common Indications of Cefdinir
● Respiratory infections (e.g., pneumonia, bronchitis)
● Skin infections
● Otitis media (ear infections)
● Sinusitis
Dosage and Administration
● Adults: 300 mg orally twice daily for 5-10 days.
● Children: 7 mg/kg twice daily for 5-10 days.
Cefdinir is available in oral tablets and suspension forms.
